The Forward Day by Day Meditation for Saturday, March 10 was:
Luke 14:26, 33 Whoever comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and even life itself, cannot be my disciple….So therefore, none of you can become my disciple if you do not give up all your possessions.
FDBD’S comment: Jesus has some really tough words to say to us here. How could Jesus want us to hate our family members? Does he really want us to give up everything: house, home, car, clothes? . . .
Our Response: These are loving words from JESUS! JESUS implied, “If you do not hate EVERYTHING in your life, stay here, follow MY teachings and love will grow. You can not be MY Disciple, because you have important work to do here, and you will become homesick soon. No, you can not be MY Disciple. Instead, you are MY Steward! MY Divine Steward! Stay here, make love grow, make prosperity grow for all. The Mustard Seed has been planted HERE; it is the Steward’s job to make it grow HERE!
However, if you hate EVERYTHING here, leave everything behind and come with ME to faraway places. I will teach you love; in time, you will then teach others love!”
