Luke 22:26-27 The greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like one who serves… I am among you as one who serves.

“Success is not another name for God.” This old proverb has been on my mind; I find it popping up at random times during my day. Success is such a venerated part of our culture. As Christians, what do we mean when we talk about success? Success is a hard taskmaster. Left unchecked, we will do violence to ourselves and to others in the pursuit of success in as many different manifestations as we can imagine—being important, being noticed, being someone who has made something of themselves. If we lose touch with the security of a loving God, success easily becomes an idol we serve in the search for significance. This need for significance runs so deep within us that we often mistreat people in order to attain it.

Jesus shows us another way. Jesus is able to be a servant because he knows the truth about who he is. He is God’s child in whom God is well pleased; this is our identity too.

My Comment to that article:

I am a Humble Servant, because I answer His Calling in Tranquility without thoughts of wealth or fame: I am a Design Engineer Consultant, receiving the compensation of a Top Senior Design Engineer (Prosperity yes, wealth no). Additional compensation from sales or leasing of Patent Rights and Royalties are being used to fund our Achievable Goals>. I do these “Impossible” tasks in anonymity to keep my personal and public lives separate.

I am a humble Servant as described. I solved a “Mystery of the Universe.” I realized how to calculate the speed of Gravity! It was just another Whisper from “The Great Magician Above” to His Humble Apprentice here below.
